Our Transitional Housing Program provides a unique opportunity for homeless men, women, and families to learn to become self-sufficient and productive members of our community. In a structured, safe, and supportive environment clients are able to take advantage of our extensive case management services and life skills training. In addition, we offer classes on health/nutrition education and computer skills.
We believe that all our clients have the potential to change and better their lives. Our staff is committed to provide the highest quality of comprehensive services to all of our clients regardless of their socio-economic background. We strive to support and assist all our clients with dignity and respect as they are learning new skills. We focus on clients' strengths and resources to empower them so that they may learn to help themselves and become self-sufficient and productive members of our community.
While our clients are working towards their goals and objectives, they are encouraged to take advantage of our wrap-around services which include our alcohol and drug abuse treatment program, treatment for co-occurring disorders, mental health counseling, domestic violence counseling, therapeutic childcare, parenting education, dental services, medical services and limited psychiatric services for uninsured clients.
Program description:
All clients and/or families are assigned to a case manager who will complete a thorough assessment on all the clients
Our case managers will help our clients identify needs and barriers that prevent clients from achieving their goals and objectives
Case managers and clients will establish goals and action plans based on clients' individual needs
Goals may include gaining financial security, obtaining stable housing, addressing mental health or substance abuse problems, and learning how to access resources available in the community
All clients participate in weekly classes on life skills, healthy cooking and nutrition, computer skills, and health education
Services are provided for up to 90 days and may be extended on an individual basis for clients enrolled into our substance abuse and/or mental health program
All clients are required to complete daily chores to keep our facilities clean and beautiful
Description of facility:
Our men's, women's, and family housing are located on the second floor of our main building
The men's housing consists of five dormitory style bedrooms with a large, fully equipped kitchen, a dining/community area, showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities
Our family and women's housing consist of individual units; each unit is furnished with bunk beds and has a private bathroom. Each unit has its own cooking and dining area
A large children's playroom and a community room allow the families to spend time together playing and relaxing
Our multi-purpose room is furnished with couches and tables as well as a TV for men and women to relax and socialize together in their free time. It is located on the main floor of our main building
All clients have access to our food bank located on the second floor and basic hygiene supplies provided
Admission Criteria:
Head of household must be 18 years or older
Must have completed Emergency Shelter Program
